Air Barrier & Foam-A-Blanket Cost Estimate

Cost calculation based on $16.00 per bag of Fiberglass and $75.00 per 5 gallon bucket of Fiberiffic Binder.

A 5 gallon pail of binder will cover 15 bags of Fiberglass (27 pounds).
The 5 gallon pail will be mixed 10-1 which will give you a 55 gallon drum of mixed Fiberiffic product.

A. Cost for Air Barrier

1. At 2.0 lbs. per cubic foot. Material & Fiber cost:
   Fiber cost is .10 cents per board foot.
   Binder cost is .03 cents per board foot.
   
   
2. At 2.5 lbs. per cubic foot. Material & Fiber cost:
   Fiber cost is .12 cents per board feet.
   Binder cost is .03 cents per board foot.
   
   
3. At 3 lbs. per cubic foot. Material & Fiber cost:
   Fiber cost is .15 cents per board feet.
   Binder cost is .04 cents per board feet.
   
   
   

B. Cost for Foam-A-Blanket:

 

1. 4” covering the corners 4” x 1” 1” Deep and 4” Across
   
   
2. At 2.5 lbs lbs. per cubic foot the cost per cavity will be $2.00
   
   
3. A 2,500 square foot house will have about 136 cavities
   ( 16" on Center and 8" High).
   
   
4. Material cost for Fiber and Binder to do a 2,500 square foot house
   will be $272.00 this does not include cost of Batts.
